Church Weddings |
|
There is a haunting enchantment, a timeless appeal a bewitching elegance in church weddings. Though with the emergence of concepts like theme weddings, beach weddings, underwater weddings or hill top weddings, some do opt out of church weddings, yet it is difficult to have the joy and the sense of reverence of being married in a place of worship from any other wedding venue. Church weddings conjure up the pictures of a young and blushing bride with a veil on the arm of her handsome young man, hundreds of gorgeous flower arrangements, bridesmaids and finally the somber marriage vows.
Though it is said that marriages are made in heaven, the preparations of such a heavenly affair must be done by mortal hands in the corporeal world. Preparations are preceded by planning. After the couple decides to marry, the next step towards that dream event is booking the church. Usually the local parish church is preferred and booked by the couple. In this context, it must be mentioned that the churches offer several value added services, as far as weddings are concerned.

The flower arrangements, decoration of the church and other sundry details are looked after by the church management committee. It is only necessary to inform them way in advance about the wedding date. Several churches are situated in exceedingly picturesque locations and these churches are often booked by couples not residing in the immediate parish. Presbyterian churches, Catholic churches, Protestant churches are the places of worship, where hundreds are conjoined in holy matrimony. Chapels and other places of worship too are in demand by the faithful.
Church regulars have no difficulty in getting their marriage license and banns, whereas defaulters are generally seen going for some out-of-the-way solutions to the problem. Banns are the formal announcement of the intention to marry by a particular couple and this gives anyone who is against the union the right to say or voice his or her opinion. After the Sunday church service, banns are read for at least three months before the wedding day. Another requirement for a church wedding is that both the people must be above the age of eighteen. The advice of talking to the church priest or vicar has made many couples stand in good steed. If more information regarding weddings in churches is required, then please visit My Dear Valentine.
