Dark Days

And the shadows, they're on my trail,
loomy gloom that leaves a bloody stain,
I tasted sadness, it tasted stale,
and the dark days are back again.
I thought I lost them, I could see the sun,
but I could never really truly reach it,
and the burning has once again begun,
bereaving me, once again defeated.
And the faded glory—just that, it faded,
a lasting impression with no substantial stay,
back in the darkness that I've long since hated,
so long ago on that one dark day.
And it's loving here that leaves me lonely,
a widowed heart with a black bouquet,
your loving arms no longer hold me,
a rotting corpse on this long dark day.

The Day I Broke

The day had started like none before
My head in the sky, my feet planted on the floor
It seemed so right, everything just seemed to fit in place
But I knew something wasn't right the second I seen her face
There was a fake smile, coupled with seemingly empty eyes
That led me on a path of betrayal, to my final surprise;
She was gone, leaving just a box and something she wrote;
My broken heart in the box, "today you broke" was the note.
