My Dear Valentine
A voyage to take you beyond love

St. Lucia Holidays

Want to relax on the golden sand beaches, soaked in the sun’s warmth, with your sweetheart? Don’t know which will be the ideal place for it?
Well, when St. Lucia is there then why let the wrinkles appear on your temple! Nothing else can be a better valentine vacation than a trip to this small adorable island. Emerald green rainforest canopy, steamy volcanoes, secret waterfalls and the most spectacular of all is the two mile high peaks- the Pitons, shooting straight from the sea, making St. Lucia truly a tropical Eden at the culmination of the rainbow.

With the dazzling Caribbean Sea on one face and the mysterious depths of the Atlantic Ocean on the other, St.Lucia is not only a sailors and fishermen favorite haunt, but is also a lover’s hub for the search of solitude. Not only these, you can also enjoy the unique experience of walking between steaming sulfur springs of Mt. Soufrière and windsurfing in the pristine water or climbing a dormant volcano or simply enjoying the best of bananas in the plantation. St. Lucia possesses the most different type of beaches with beautiful black-and-white sand and rare colorful foliage.

SIGHTSEEING IN ST. LUCIA

  • Derek Walcott Square: This is the scenic square, was originally named Columbus Square, renamed in 1992 after the native who won the Nobel Prize for literature.

  • Pitons: Gros Piton and Petit Piton, formed 30 million years ago by a volcanic eruption, are now covered with lush vegetation. Great for trekking, Pitons gives a panoramic view of the island.

  • Diamond Botanical Gardens: From lush green gardens to a blue cascade of water, the Diamond Waterfall, and then to the Diamond Mineral Baths. This is a sulphur spring that changes its hue throughout the day and is said to have healing powers.

  • Fregate Island: In these rocky islands, a nature trail will bring you close to the nesting frigate birds, sea caves, a mangrove swamp, and during the monsoons, a waterfall.
  • Pigeon Island National Park: Located at Fort Rodney, multimedia displays and ancient artifacts teach about the island’s ecology and history till today.

  • Mt. Soufriere Drive-in Volcano: “The World’s only drive-in volcano”, is still an active volcano. A great walking experience amidst the seething sulphur pools of green and yellow.

  • Moerne Coubaril Estate: Dating back to 1713, this tour interprets 18th century plantation life.

  • Marquis Plantation: This banana plantation is the largest estate in St. Lucia, a walk among the mahogany and teak, a boat trip on the Marquis river, and a lunch in the plantation house will make you yearn for the simple life of a herdsman.

  • Maris Islands Nature Reserve: The two islands- Maris Major and Maria Minor are a great reserve of exotic plants, scary rare reptiles, and an abode of various colorful tropical birds.

  • Morne Fortune: “ The Hill of Good Luck”, this tiny peak reminds of the French colonial rule through a small museum and the military cemetery. Also gives the best view in all of the Caribbean, as believed by many.

Apart from sightseeing, there are many activities to enjoy like hiking, mountain biking, bird-watching or soaking in the mist of the waterfall in the rain forest. There’s also great snorkeling, fishing, diving, whale and dolphin watching and kite sailing.
