Valentine Day Do It Yourself Gift Ideas

Valentines Day is celebrated all over the world on 14th February. This is the most special day for people in love. They exchange gifts as tokens of love. But a gift becomes a lot more special when it is self made as it reflects the sincerity of your love.

On this day people receive gifts from their loved ones and give gifts to their loved ones, that are either brought from the shops or made at home.

Materials Required

• 2 1/2 yards flat lace, 8" wide
• 6" Styrofoam heart wreath
• Glue gun or craft glue
• Silk flowers
• Ribbon scraps
• Ribbon roses.
• Fold lace in half lengthwise. Sew 1 3/8" away from fold to form casing. (Adjust width of casing to accommodate diameter of wreath if needed.)
• Find center point of length of lace and mark with pin.
• Split heart at bottom point with knife and smooth rough ends with emery board.
• Feed lace on half of wreath and glue wreath back together

Valentine Heart Placemats 

Materials Required:

• 13 1/2' X 17 1/2" Valentine fabric or red print calico
• Red and white gingham (different fabrics for each side of placemats); 1" wide
• White eyelet ruffle

Procedure:

• Cut 2 heart shapes (size of placemats desired) from fabric pieces.
• Place the 2 right sides of heart shaped fabric pieces together and machine-stitch around the edge, with a strip of 1" wide white eyelet ruffling stitched into the seam between the two layers of fabric.
• Leave a small opening at the top of the heart (large enough to turn right side out), and turn the place mat to the right side.
• Press the raw edges of the opening to the inside so they are not visible.
• For Valentines Day festive event allow the guests or any special guest to fill the opening of their placemats with fiberfill and sew them closed.
