Runaway Bride |
| |
One can find love in most unlikely places. Even a bride who is scared of walking down the aisle can be the object of affection for someone else. This message of love is given by the movie Runaway Bride. The film Runaway Bride was released in 1999 and it was directed by Garry Marshall. The film on love was an instant success and is a perfect Valentine's Day movie.
The main star cast of Runaway Bride is Julia Roberts as Maggie Carpenter, Richard Gere as Ike Graham, Joan Cusack as Peggy Flemming, Rita Wilson as Ellie Graham. The other characters also portray their characters faithfully. Maggie Carpenter has a very interesting approach to love. She falls in love, makes the guy love her enough to propose marriage but ditches him at the altar.

This ridiculous rigmarole continued for three successive would-be marriages. Now Ike Graham, a New York columnist writes a very offensive column on Maggie Carpenter without researching the background of the girl thoroughly. It results in Ike getting fired the next day by his publisher (also his former wife) because a couple of facts in the column were faked. Ike now embarks on a fact finding mission on Maggie to present her properly in his column. And the two were destined to fall in love.
Runaway Bride is pure entertainment. The lead pair of Julia Roberts and Richard Gere has performed very well and much of the film rides on their charismatic shoulders. The unusual girl and the slipshod journalist make a unique couple, but then, that's the way love is. For more, connect to My Dear Valentine.
