The film French Kiss has been directed by Lawrence Kasden. The film has for its plot the story of Kate (Meg Ryan) and Charlie (Timothy Hutton), who have a perfect life planned out before them, which includes, buying a house, marriage and kids. The plot takes a different turn when Charlie has to fly to Paris on business, Kate is afraid to board the plane, so she stays back. Charlie calls of his relationship with Kate and informs Kate that he has fallen in love with a French woman, named Juliette (Susan Anbeh).
Kate becomes desperate to get Charlie Back, and therefore ignoring her fears she boards the plane and on the flight she ends up sitting beside a French thief Luc Teyssier (Kevin Kline). Luc Tessiyer stashes a necklace and smuggled grape vine in Kate's bag to get through the customs.
The bag gets lost, and therefore Luc who simply wants to get his necklace back, pretends that, he is willing to help Kate, to get back Charlie. Kate and Luc travel to Cannes for this purpose and in the process Kate and Luc develop feelings for each other that change the course of their life.
