Dark Chocolate Waffles with Strawberries

Given here is the recipe for Dark Chocolate Waffles with Strawberries.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of. melted butte
1/4th cup of. sugar
2 eggs, separated
1/2 tsp. of vanilla extract

3 oz. of bittersweet chocolate, melted and cooled
1-1/2 cup of. flour
2 tsp of baking powder
1/4 tsp of salt (optional)
1/2 cup of milk or 3/4 cup of buttermilk
Powdered sugar
Fresh strawberries, sliced and sweetened

Procedure:

In an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar. Add the egg yolks, vanilla and cooled chocolate. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture alternately with the milk, and blend well with each addition.

With an electric mixer, beat the egg whites until it gets stiff. Fold them into the batter.

Place about 1/3 cup batter in a hot waffle iron, close the cover and bake until the steaming stops.

While it gets ready for serving, sprinkle powdered sugar and use the strawberry slices as toppings.
