Lina and Don are popular onscreen romantic pairs. It is Lina who misunderstands the on screen love to be real love. Along with his previous partner Cosmo Don has made great efforts to reach a high position. Their film is converted into a musical for which Don has the best songs opted out. Sherlock Jr:

The plot revolves on a projectionist who is studying to be a detective and during the course falls in love with a young lady. The main story begins when he proposes to her and has his enemies stealing his father’s chain watch and causes him to look guilty. While the detective projects the film he begins to dream of being the detective to solve the mystery in the story. The truth is found out by the girl and brings the guilty to her father. City Lights:
This is regarded to be a classic romantic movie based on the theme of love and romance. Written and directed by Charles Chaplin the movie was released on 6th Feb 1931. The story has a beautiful blind girl whose family is in financial trouble. The move then shifts to a tramp that is deeply in love with this blind girl. The tramp befriends a wealthy man and he permits him to be the girl’s supporter and suitor. The movie has a happy ending similar to most of the Hollywood movies. Brief Encounter:
A romantic drama this is a story of a woman that is told in the most intricate manner. Directed by David Lean and released on 24th Aug 1946 the movie is simply fantastic to watch any time of the year. The plot revolves round a woman who comes across a stranger at the railway station and the woman gets enticed to deceive her husband. Although they are already married they know that it is impossible to make come close together. The movie shows impossible love and is a unique movie from the other movies. The movie has been nominated for 3 Oscars and is an excellent movie.

On the Waterfront:
Directed by Elia Kazan the movie is a romantic drama along with nuances of crime in between. Released on 24th June 1954 the story has Terry Malloy who dreams of being a prizefighter, whilst nurturing his pigeons and he is involved in household chores for Johnny Friendly who is the dishonest boss of the Dockers union. Two thugs of Johnny are involved in a murder that is witnessed by Terry and she meets up with the dead man’s sister and feels she is to be blamed for the death. A court scene emerges to solve the mystery. Will the mystery be solved is what is left for the audience to decide while watching this movie. The movie has won 8 Oscars and is believed to be one of the greatest films of all times.

The Apartment:
This movie was released on 16th September 1960 and directed by Billy Wilder. Again a romantic comedy it is one of the all time favorite movies that should not be missed out. The movie has won 5 Oscars and is a story that centers on a man who tries to progress in his business and in turn allows the executives of the company in which he is working to make use of his apartment as a meeting place. Hence the movie is called “The Apartment”. During this time the man faces a lot of problems and a romance of his own follow up. There are nuances of comic scenes in between that make for a hearty laugh.

Notorious:
This movie can be categorized as a romantic drama and a thriller. The movie was released on 6th Sept 1946 and directed by Alfred Hitchcock. The plot is fabulous and centers on a Woman who is asked to be a secret agent for a group of Nazi friends living in South America. The story then has a love affair between Alicia and Devlin and it is then that Alicia is asked to become the lover of her father’s friend Alex. The movie was nominated for two Oscars and is a great movie that can even be watched a second time.

Titanic:

The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet and is directed by James Cameron. Released on December 19th 1997 the movie centers on the life of a young man and woman who come from varied social classes and fall in love on the massive ship they are traveling. The most gripping moment comes when the ship hits an iceberg and the way the people are rescued from the ship.

Gone With The Wind:
A movie categorized under the drama romance and war this is an outstanding movie that is admired by one and all. The movie was released on December 15th 1939 and stars Leslie Howard, Fred Crane, Oscar Polk and Howard Hickman. Two persons in love are torn apart when one of them proclaims his plan to marry his cousin. In spite of being persuasive nothing happens. Then on the first day of the Civil war someone else comes into her life who brings about a change forever.
