Classic Romance Novels

Romance novels are very pleasing and engrossing. Several romance writers have explored the theme of love between man and woman from very early times. William Shakespeare, the great dramatist, dwelt on length about love and consequences of love in the lives of humans, in his celebrated works that fall in the literary genre of drama. Several writers across the world from early times have penned books on romance and love. The rules of the game in romance and love have changed over the times and the history of romantic novels gives enthralling insights into the norms of each society through the ages. Some novels written by extraordinary novelists which have survived the ravages of time and are still as popular and relevant are normally known as classic romance novels.
Classic romance novels were written by great writers. Their talent and insight into the human nature were really a cut above.

Sir Walter Scott, William Makepeace Thackeray, George Elliott, Charles Dickens, Jane Austen, Thomas Hardy, Charlotte Bronte, Anne Bronte and Emily Bronte can be termed as some of the most renowned authors of English language who tackled the shackles of society through their characters

Love grew amongst the ruins of desolate moors, amongst the peace of thatched cottages, amongst God fearing villages, within the walled contours of castles, manor houses and parlors. The characters were given several shades which has made them relevant through the ages.

The men had their weaknesses and strengths, they knew love but sometimes gave in to lust. Women played the role of mother, sister, lover or wife with élan. It is this aspect which has made them so real; many a reader can see his or her mirror image in the characters. My Dear Valentine feels that it is this very feature of timelessness, which has turned them into classic romance novels.
