I Love Dad Poems

"Fathers are angels sent from heaven." Love poems for Dad are one of the best ways of acknowledging a father's incomparable love and support in one's life. We may never be able to pay back his self-less love and care. But, the least we can do is express our love and respect for him. They are the mentors of our life. Our life would have been completely different without their immense love and support. Love poems especially for your dad are the most brilliant ways of expressing your gratitude for him.

Father's Day is a special day to honor the fathers for everything they do for their little ones. This is the day when we take pride in expressing our love for our dad. Usually, Father's Day involves gift-giving. But, a sweet poem describing your feelings for him is the best gift he can ever ask for. Poems can definitely not match his immense love and care.

But, the least they can do is make your dad proud of you. You don't have to be a good writer for writing poems for him. A cute poem for your father reflecting your true feelings for him can do wonders.

Father's Day is not the only day when you can express your love for him. Every day is a Father's Day.

Don't wait for special occasions to let him know that how much you value him in your life. It is a great unfortunate moment when he/she loses his/her dad. No one on this earth can repair that huge loss. So, before it's too late express your beautiful feelings for him. Love poems for dad make an ideal choice for that. Following verses make an ideal expression of love and care for your dad.

"Most truly honoured, and as truly dear,
If worth in me or ought I do appear,
Who can of right better demand the same
Than may your worthy self from whom it came?..."

By: Anna Bradstreet

Some occasions like Birthdays and Anniversaries call for special gestures. These occasions give you an ideal platform for expressing your love for the special people of your life. Especially, if it's your dad's birthday it calls for a grand celebration. A celebration always doesn't mean giving expensive gifts. Celebration in true means mean a lot more. It is all about celebrating the person's values and ideals. So, apart from gifts poems are also a good way of sharing your heart-felt emotions. A good poem for your dad would in fact be the best way of acknowledging his presence in your life.

Following is an extract of a well-known poem.

".....If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run-
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And-which is more-you'll be a Man, my son! "

By: Rudyard Kipling

Rudyard Kipling, Anna Bradstreet, Emily Dickinson and William Wordsworth are the some of the great poets who written some great poems for fathers.

My Father By Mary Carpio

I had the greatest father
a child could ever have on earth
Was the first male face I remember
after my mother gave me birth

I remember the many times
he wiped the tears from my face
And felt the strength of his arms
when he held me in his embrace

His discipline seemed harsh at times
and his words may have been strong
But it wasn't because he was cruel
was because I did a wrong

The times we shared together
were more than I can recall
To have him the moments I did
was better than not knowing him at all.

DADS are special people By Helen Steiner Rice

Dads are special people
No home should be without,
For every family will agree
They're 'SO NICE TO HAVE ABOUT' -
They are a happy mixture
Of a 'SMALL BOY' and a 'MAN'
And they're very necessary
In every 'FAMILY PLAN'
Sometimes they're most demanding
And stern, and firm and tough
But underneath they're 'soft as silk'
For this is just a 'BLUFF'

But in any kind of trouble
Dad reaches out his hand.
And you can always count on him
To help and understand -
And while we do not praise Dad
as often as we should,
We love him and admire him,
And while that's understood,
It's only fair to emphasize
His importance and his worth -
For if there were no loving Dads
This would be a 'LOVELESS EARTH'.

DADS By Ken Brown

Delightful and loving,
Loved and admired,
Dad, you're my hero,
My life you've inspired. And when all my blessings
Are counted each day,
I thank God in heaven
For Dad when I pray. Dad thanks for your presence
Throughout thick and thin;
You're more than a parent,
You're my wonderful friend.
