Break Up Poems

Breaking UpTo Goodbye By Gary R. Hess

Don't really want to say goodbye
I don't really want to leave you
But now I have to go away
Stay away from you forever

What we had was something special
Deep down from our hearts

Breakup By Julie Scricco

Here lays my heart
All broken and torn
There are no feelings left in it
For me to mourn

Here lays my mind
Which has repressed
All the memories we have shared
That have left me a mess

Here lays my soul
Which you took away
Along with my faith and trust in you
That you broke in a day

Here lays my body
All mangled and left to die
I hope that I can get through this
And find another guy.

Of course, the impact of a break up can differ according to the age and the maturity level of a person. For most of the teens, handing a break up is next to impossible while for most of the adults, break ups are just a phase of life.

Teens start their lives from this age and parting away from a person, whom they love, is not an easy task. But adults have more maturity and experience as they have learnt how to cope up with break ups since their teenage.

So the break up poetry should incorporate the feelings of the person concerned. And it depends on your attitude towards life and how you can handle the whole situation.

Wish By Alexander Pushkin

The days drag on, each moment multiplies
Within my wounded heart the pain and sadness
Of an unhappy love and, dark, gives rise.
To sleepless dreams, the haunting dreams of madness
But I do not complain - instead, I weep;
Tears bring me solace, comforted they leave me.
My spirit, captive held by grief, a deep.
And bitter rapture finds in them, believe me.

Pass, life! Come, empty phantom, onward fly.
And in the silent void of darkness vanish.
Dear it to me my love's unending anguish;
If as I die I love, pray let me die
.

I Loved You Once By Alexander Pushkin

I loved you once, nor can this heart be quiet;
For it would seem that love still lingers there;
But do not you be further troubled by it;
I would in no wise hurt you, oh, my dear.
I loved you without hope, a mute offender;
What jealous pangs, what shy despairs I knew!
A love as deep as this, as true, as tender,
God grant another may yet offer you.
