Love Story by Erich Segal is an iconic novel on tragic love. The novel has been made into a highly successful motion picture but the love story book makes for a very interesting read. Erich Segal has told the tale of love between two young college graduates from college with diverse backgrounds. When it was first published, the love story book was a rage amongst young lovers and it is a great tribute to the author and the theme of the story that the book is still as popular as ever.
Love Story book has two main characters Jennifer Cavilleri and Oliver Barrett IV. Oliver comes from a very distinguished family, on the other hand Jennifer’s family barely ekes out a living.
But with love, no obstacles seem to be a stumbling block and the two marry against the express wish of Oliver’s father. Oliver’s father threw him out of the family inheritance with due decorum and it was Jennifer’s illness that brought about a rapprochement. |
