This story has been filmed on both Indian and American soil and the Hindi version is named as Balle Balle Amritsar to L.A.

Will Darcy (Martin Henderson) and Lalita Bakshi (Aishwariya Rai) are the protagonists in the story where Darcy meets the proud and arrogant Lalita at an Indian weeding of their friends. Initially the arrogance in Lalita and the cold attitude of Darcy become the reason for them to despise each other. They run into confrontations quite frequently and drift apart due to prejudices and misunderstandings. Lalita is born and brought up in India, Amritsar, and lives with her parents under quite challenging circumstances as they are almost neck deep in debt. Lalita being one of the four unmarried sisters also has to regularly endure the pressure of marriage.
While Darcy and Lalita continue to squabble, Mr. Wickham( Daniel Gillies) who is a rather sleek and proficient charmer enters her life. He meets her during a trip to Goa, where Lalita drifts further apart from Darcy and they start ignoring each other. But Darcy is also deeply hurt and angered to see Lalita spending more time with Wickham. After the holiday,
Darcy and the rest of the group get back to Amritsar where Wickham also eventually pays a visit at Lalita’s place and gets involved with Lalita’s younger sister Lucky (Peeya Rai Choudhary). In the meantime a soft romantic story evolves between Lalita’s elder sister Jaya (Namrata Shirodkar) and Darcy’s friend Balraaj (Naveen Andrews). Lalita’s best friend marries the green card holder Mr Kohli who had been previously rejected by Lalita. So the Bakshi family gets invited to L.A for the marriage ceremony.There, Wickham convinces Lucky to run away with him. Lalita finds out that Darcy had motivated Balraj against marrying Jaya.
At the same time she also discovers about Wickham’s affair with Darcy’s sister whom he had loved for property and finds out about Darcy’s girl friend.
As a result of all these discoveries, Darcy and Lalita finally unite as Darcy goes against his dominating mother and marries Lalita. Balraaj also gets back with Jaya and they are finally married in the same wedding venue. Though not focusing on teenage flick or fast romantic comedy, the movie does have its share of immature romance and comedy, as when Mrs. Bakshi is seen looking frantically for a groom or when Mr. Kohli carries out his weird antics in order to impress Lalita.
The songs in the movie are mostly English, but their lyrics have been written on the lines of Hindi songs. On the whole, they do not leave a great impact on the listeners.
