Love vs Marriage

No marriage can sustain without love. Love vs marriage is another topic of debate for most of you people. But, love is pure and sublime human emotion that completes marriage. Without loving someone you cannot marry that person. And if, you are married then you surely love him/her.

Love and marriage are more intertwined and therefore, it's very difficult to separate both the human aspects. With the changing world, people are more falling for love and not marriage. It means - marriage calls for commitment of lifetime. Even, love is about being honest to the one person but, staying together 24*7 and thinking of family is all about marriage.

Marriage means not just bringing your hearts and souls together but, extending a family and shouldering each other responsibilities for entire life. Love sometimes finally ends up in marriage. But, today people feel love ends after marriage; which is untrue.

You can a better idea of love vs marriage with a short anecdote. It's about a boy in his teens who wants to know the difference between love and marriage. And his dad try's to explain it with a short story.

One day, Henry asked his dad, "What is love? How can I find it?" His dad answered, "There is a vast wheat field in front. Walk forward without turning back, and pick only one stalk. If you find the most magnificent stalk, then you have found love."

Henry walked forward, and before long, he returned with empty hands, having picked nothing. His dad asked, "Why did you not pick any stalk?" Henry answered, "Because I could only pick once, and yet I could not turn back. I did find the most magnificent stalk, but did not know if there were any better ones ahead, so I did not pick it. As I walked further, the stalks that I saw were not as good as the earlier one, so I did not pick any in the end.

His dad then said, "And that is love."

On another day, Henry asked his dad, "What is marriage? How can find it? "His dad answered, "There is a thriving forest in front. Walk forward without turning back, and chop down only one tree. If you find the tallest tree, then you have found marriage." Henry walked forward, and before long, he returned with a tree. The tree was not thriving, and it was not tall either. It was an ordinary tree. His dad asked, "Why did you chop down such an ordinary tree?"

Henry answered, "Because of my previous experience. I walked halfway through the forest, but returned with empty hands. This time, I saw this tree, and I felt that it was not bad, so I chopped it down and brought it back. I did not want to miss the opportunity."

His dad then said, "And that is marriage."

Getting married is a wonderful experience as; it is a bundle of joy, peace, security and children. Marriage is bliss but, love is vague. Love vs marriage would be confusing but, the fact is marriage is extension of true love. You get married only after falling in true love with the 'one'- isn't it?
