Blue Love Birds |
Blue love birds are very pleasing to the eye. Friendly and tame they make the perfect pet. These cute birds are inhabitants of a small area of east-central Africa, south and south-east of Lake Victoria in northern Tanzania. But due to drought conditions in the last couple of years, some birds have moved west into Rwanda and Burundi, seeking a more comfortable clime. These birds are named after German explorer Gustav Fischer.
Fischer's blue love birds are most famous for their blue color mutation. These birds have a bright blue back, tail and chest with a white neck, pale grey head and a pale pink beak. This color mutation was first bred by R. Horsham in South Africa in 1957, and two years later, it was bred by Dr. F. Warford in San Francisco, California. Dutch blue love birds are also very beautiful and friendly. They have jewel-like blue feathers and what a sight two blue-feathered love birds make! They take around a year to reach their jewel-like bluish-green coloring. However, they are not "true blue" birds like Fischer's blue love birds.

Many breeders breed the blue love birds and it is hardly surprising that the birds are all sold out the moment they are put on sale. For Valentine's Day gift, nothing can match sentiments with which a pair of love birds is given. My Dear Valentine will give you more information on this.
