Friends are precious and nobody wants to be heartbroken with the loss of friends. But this is an undeniable fact that broken friendships create a void in life and definitely in the minds of people. There are countless broken friendship poems which describe the suffering which it can leave behind.
One very touching broken friendship poem describes the yearning of a friend for her lost friend. The poem is titled “We Once Were One” by Mandy. It describes the way two girls became friends in office and how their friendship was soon a precious thing to both of them and how they stood by each other through thick and thin.
But after some time, the bond became slack and the friendship was soon lost. But the last line expressing the hope that the friendship will live on in the memory of both of them is extremely touching.
Broken friendship poems can be very poignant. They express the pain and yearning for the friend very clearly. Emma Stacey has described such friendship in her poem “Together”. She has very clearly mentioned that when two good friends are together, there is so much to discuss that the whole world is forgotten. It seems that the world is complete and nothing else matters that much. But again the friendship is broken for some reason, and the whole picture gets distorted.
