Heather Flowers

"Shed those tears with me// walk with me hand in hand where there the mad moon conspires with the autumn breeze // come with me to the greens where lies the purple dreams of heather”

Understand what happiness is amidst the mauve dreams, amidst the pink whispers of heathers. Send her a posy of heathers to reassure your love on this Valentine’s Day. Let the cherry kisses of the heathers diffuse your deep emotion – let heather say – “I love you deeply, madly, wholly “in an eloquent way. Wish her happiness; promise her a vibrant tomorrow; pledge her that you will be there forever with the purple shimmer of the heather which has defined the feeling of falling in love time and time again so very delicately.

The soft petals, the lustrous patina, the bright hue of the Heather Flowers epitomizes passion, love, warmth and that ceaseless emotion which alone has supported man to transcend all the realities, to forget all the worries. Make this valentine lot more colorful with the magical touch of heathers and feel the ecstasy of being in love whilst whispering – “I wish you all the best for today, tomorrow and forever”

As the old winter steps back with the advent of spring, Heather Flowers pops out whilst pepping from the misty shade of the lush green grasses. The magical smell of heather fills the air whilst announcing the onset of spring time; denoting the message of spring – the days of maturing sun, the days of perfumed breeze and the days of those balmy ease. Celebrated typically as the love flowers, heather is sure to relive your feelings amidst its brilliance and reek, in the midst of its grandeur and magnificence.

It is said that the flowers of “hope” and “good luck” is a gift of God. After God has finished creating the world, he looked at the barren hilltops, at the empty arid lands and thought it would be really nice to see these lands being covered with the color of the mystic flowers. God turned to the Oak tree, the honeysuckle and the rose tree and requested them to ho there at the barren hilltop to cover it with colors and verve. None went. At last God turned to the heather and said “will you go there at the barren soil and grow”? Heather listened to God and went to the ruddy hilltops to make it more beautiful. Pleased God gave heather those rare gifts – gave her the strength of the oak and then the sweet smell of the honeysuckle and finally God gave heather the rare sweetness of the rose.

The Amaryllis or belladonna is a bulbous plant. Each bulb of Amaryllis is nearly 5 to 10 cm in diameters. The stripped and dull green leaves are 30 to 50 cm long and 2 to 3 cm broad. These leaves are arranged in twin rows. The leaves live for short span they are born in the autumn and die in the late summer. During the late summer time the Amaryllis bulb produces naked stems each 30 to 60 cm tall. These stems have a cluster comprising either 2 or 12 cone shaped flowers at the top portion. The funnel shaped flowers with six petals are 6 to 10 cm in diameter. An Amaryllis is usually white colored but other colors like pink and purple are also available.

In the beginning of eighteenth century the belladonna flowers were cultivated. Most species of Amaryllis were sold with the name of ‘ready to bloom for the holidays’ even when the flower was named as Amaryllis. Due to this name confusion some flowers of different species are also named as ‘naked ladies’.
