70’s Party

1970’s was an era of great fashion and style, as it was during this age that many fashion icons made their mark among the common masses. The 70s clothing basically included a wide range of flared denims, jeans and cords, cool denim flares, corduroy flares even stretching up to shoes. Bell bottoms, hipster’s and frilled tuxedo shirts, mini dresses, tank tops and platform shoes which were ideally known as the typical fashion of that era. The 70’s particularly a great time in the history of the fashion world for it marked a great transformation of social values which was well reflected even in the dressing style of the people.

The coming of the musical bands as well as the emergence of some of the finest Hollywood actors who mesmerized the world with their unique style, since the young men and women looked up to these style icons and invariably tried to imbibe their sense of style among them. Precisely to say, 70’s party theme was more about tinges of a hip hop culture.

The beginning of 1970 was truly an era that saw the birth of the disco music, in fact this was not just the music but a way of life for the young generation. The men wore bell bottoms made from fabric of polyester and lycra. While the women's dresses were loose and knee length. The casual modern western wear for men were bell bottoms, leather jacket over a bright colored shirt and gold chains. 70’s party dresses were all about style, hence plat form shoes in shades of black sizzled well on the dance floor. Also gowns were quite popular during that era, as they were made of chiffon with folds in the dress, in order to give it an elegant Greek look. It was a common sight in the 1970’s when women wore pants at work, and the men folk experimented with lots of style with bright shades and colors. 70’s party dresses were all about representing the new found freedom of men and women well expressed through colorful attires. The 70’s party costume was actually reckoned as the time for self-expression marked by emergence of a new social class which swore by new age fashion of the era.
