Plan the Perfect Valentine's Day for Your Husband

Posted on :2014-01-30 in

Let’s face it, men don’t exactly make their desires all that clear. So, when you try to plan the perfect Valentine’s Day for your husband, you probably end up feeling like you’re in the dark most of the time.

Most guys are silently worrying about the perfect thing to do for their wives and girlfriends, which makes it that much more difficult to squeeze some details about what they would like to do out of them. (They might be afraid of giving the wrong answer!)

The key when you begin laying out your thoughts for February 14th is to focus on his likes and avoid his dislikes, to show that you know him – and, ultimately, respect him for who he is. Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:

How to plan the perfect Valentine's Day for your Husband

Plan Around His Favorite Team

It is a bit unorthodox to think about huddling around the TV on love’s holiday, but you will surprise him if the main idea is to watch a game with him. If he’s a basketball fan, the other love of his life could be playing – and there is nothing better for a sports fanatic than having his significant other show an interest. Sit down with him and do your best to get into it: ask some questions (but not too many) and show your approval when his team is playing well or get up in arms when the referees make a bad call. It’s way different than the flowery, romantic evening he probably thought would be on tap – and that is precisely why he will love every second of it.

Cook Up The Good Stuff

Everyone knows the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so when was the last time you really worked on him from that angle? Sure, you did it all the time while you were dating and probably even after you got married, but have you lost track of your culinary edge in recent years? See about pulling together a bunch of dishes you know make his mouth water – tasty appetizers, succulent main courses and delectable desserts. Believe it or not, he will find it a great way to talk about the old days, beginning with the first time you brought these creations to the table, which will inevitably lead to the kind of heartfelt reminiscing you crave on a night like this.

Make a Move on Him

OK, we’re all adults here, so let’s acknowledge the fact that he’s probably hoping the evening will end with some hot-and-heavy activity between the sheets. Use the opportunity to be the aggressor, surprising him with flirty moves or passionate kisses when he least expects them. Make him think the moment has arrived, then deftly back away to go check on dinner. The anticipation will invigorate him (not to mention make you feel desired) and lead to a romp the likes of which you haven’t had in a while. Of course, you could go in a completely different direction and attack him from the start – either way, he will be thrilled.
