It is always a hard thing for a girl to tell a guy she doesn’t like him back. Rejection or denial of love by a woman is heart-breaking but it can be conveyed even in a gentle and non-offensive way. A lot of girls often hesitate saying a no to someone who acts more than a friend despite not having mutual feelings because they do not like breaking a cordial relationship and hurting a friend. Thinking about the pain that the guy might go through on being rejected by them in love also makes a girl stay mum when proposed by someone.
Even though you are friendly with a guy but does not like to see him as your boyfriend or partner then make sure that you convey to him how you feel. Not saying anything on being liked by a boy despite having no feelings of affection for him might actually send a wrong message and encourage him to take the matter further. It is always possible to convey a guy that you do not like him without hurting his ego by putting across your point gently. Find out some of the ways to say no to a guy you don’t like before you go out without any plan.
Firstly, you need to find out about the exact feelings of a guy. It might be just that the guy is being a little more caring and you might have taken his protective attitude for love. Confront him and ask him honestly how he feels about you. If he says he would like to take on the role of more than a friend then assess your feelings towards him. Tell him gently that you would only like to remain his friend if you do not like a guy in the same way as he does but be sure about your feelings. It is never a good idea to push a guy away and then realize that you would want to be him.
Think in advance about the reasons that you will give for rejecting a guy in love with you. Tell your feelings honestly without feeling guilty of rejecting a guy. However, it is good to speak uprightly when saying no to a guy, avoid saying things that will hurt his ego and ruin even the chances of maintaining a cordial relationship after telling him your true feelings. Bring up the things that you have a problem with when it comes to getting into a relationship with him. Explain your reasons for saying a guy that you do not like him back very clearly but in an unobjectionable manner to help him see your points.
Drop some hints as to when telling a guy that you don’t like him so that he does not remain in the dark about his being disapproved in love. When giving a guy reasons for rejecting him in love, make sure that they are genuine and not made-up stuff. Tell him honestly if you are not yet over your ex or you do not like to hang around with him if you are not yet ready for a new relationship. Any fake reason that you give for denial of love is likely to be found out later and then he might feel cheated.
Once you have learnt how to say no to a guy you don’t like, choose a place where you both will get enough privacy to open up your honest feelings to each other. Sort out a time which will be convenient for both of you to discuss privately about your reasons for rejecting him in love. Avoid picking up a too crowded place as you might get distracted and end up saying things that you should not when saying no to a guy.
Choose the right place. Once you're sure you don't want to be with him then you need to sort out a time when the two of you will be able to talk privately. Try asking him to meet you for a coffee, or popping over to his house. Don't go for a meal or anything that could be mistaken as being romantic as you need to avoid being misleading. Going to a completely secluded place for a private discussion on saying no to a guy is also not a wise idea as he might try to get aggressive on being denied love.
Once you have spoken about how you feel, let the guy speak out. Saying a guy that you do not like him even politely will hurt him but you can end your discussion with something nice and positive. Tell the guy about his good points and how he should not get disappointed on being said no to let the guy not lose his confidence.
