How to Dress up for Valentine’s Day

Posted on :2012-11-12 in

Valentine’s Day is right round the corner. Are you a little jittery about how to present yourself well on that special day? If you are in an initial stage of your relationship, you are still perhaps at the juncture where you always make an effort to put your best foot forward.

If you have been together for a long time, surprise your special someone with a new get-up that will make her/him fall for you all over again. Let us help you assemble an ensemble that will make butterflies fly in her/his stomach and turn other heads in your direction too!

  1. Keep in mind how you intend to spend the day while choosing your outfit – It is obvious that your outfit should not be a misfit to your surroundings. Just as a shorts-tee ensemble is not the one for a fine dining restaurant, a jacket suit will be considered hilarious on the beach. If you are planning for a a laid back evening at home, a dressy cocktail dress or a blazer suit will be an unnecessary trim.

How to Dress up for Valentine’s Day

  1. Pick colors that are suitable for the occasion – Colors are said to be pivotal in creating mood. More so for romance. So obviously you should be careful in choosing them while assembling your outfit. While red is the color of passion, not everyone, especially mean, may not feel comfortable in sporting a bright red, although men do look dashing in red tees if they can carry it well. Shades of peaches, pinks and lilacs weave an aura of romance, while deep hues of mustard, burgundy and chocolate bring out the richness in your relationship. Metallic colors of gold, silver and copper look glamorous if appropriately used. The key is to feel comfortable in what you wear – unless you do so you shall not be able to enjoy.

  2. Consider the comfort level of your partner – You may dare to go bare, but make sure your partner is too. Supposing you two have planned a picnic on the sea-side, or a party at a night club, you may be contemplating a bold alluring outfit. But if your partner does not feel comfortable about the idea, she/he may not let loose and have a nice time. After all Valentine’s Day is about both of you!

  3. Do not belittle accessories – A smart way to jazz up a low-key outfit is by accessorizing it well. If you would be working on Valentine’s Day, then accessories will be your go-to friends to go from office to partying. For women, a chunky piece of beaded neckpiece or a stack of bangles or a sexy dangler will easily glam up any outfit. For men, a smart leather jacket will not only keep the chill away, but also give an attractive look. A colorful scarf looks great even on business casuals. A statement piece of cufflinks will surely attract attention.

Remember, when you dress up for your Valentine, you make her/him feel special by portraying that you still make the efforts to woo her/him.
