Posted on :2013-03-25 in

Anger is an emotion which we all have to deal with at some point or the other. In a state of anger, most of the people tend to turn abusive and insulting. It is difficult to deal with someone who uses foul language very frequently.

However, when the person who has the habit of using abusive language is a close friend of yours then it becomes all the more difficult.

If you find yourself in a bad situation where you have to deal with an abusive friend then you can learn some effective tips from here.

Do not provoke him

A lot of times people turn abusive when they are instigated or provoked by others to turn angry. Negative remarks or bad comments can often hurt the pride or ego of a person. If you have a abusive friend then you should better avoid making any off-putting remarks against him/her that might prompt him/her to turn rude and insulting. Watch every word that you speak or look before you commit any upsetting action when he/she is around. If you are aware of the abusive nature of your friend then it is best to be cautious in everything that you do when you are around with your friend.

Talk to him candidly

A lot of times, abusive people are unaware of the damages they have been incurring on themselves as well as other people because of their rude behavior. Obnoxious people take others around for granted and treat them with disrespect and contempt. It is because of their ill manners that they have very few friends and trusted people around them. If you are a genuine friend and want to change your abusive friend then you can tell him/her openly about his nature. Talk to him in a polite manner and show how insulting nature is impacting his life. Tell him that offensive behavior is the reason that obstructs his growth as an individual and does not help him in winning the trust of other people around him.

Reform his abusive ways

Just telling your friend that the abusive nature is bad for him sometimes will not help in changing his nature. You have to go a step ahead and try to bring in positive changes around. Sometimes, a person who is insulting in nature may not take your candid conversation about his nature in the right manner. Try to calm down his nerves when he gets intensely angry and rude over someone. Show him that there is a better way to vent out anger rather than turning abusive. Enroll him in some sort of yoga classes or motivational sessions where help is provided to reform the ill manners of a rude person.

Avoid Him If there is no change

If you have done your best to reform the abusive nature of your friend but despite that he continues to be rude and impolite then it is best to leave him to his state. Move away from him and limit your association with him to avoid getting hurt because of his abusive nature.
